Jimoh Ibrahim Takes Over as Chairman of the UN Peacekeeping Mission

Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim has assumed the chairmanship of the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission. He stated that the UN will ensure stability in counterterrorism efforts in the interest of civilians.
He also expressed appreciation to the outgoing Chairman from Canada for a job well done.
Amb. Jimoh Ibrahim now chairs two committees of the United Nations:
1. United Nations Committee on Budgetary and Administrative Matters
2. United Nations Special Committee on Peacekeeping Operations (C34)
Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim is Nigeria’s Ambassador to the UN. He holds degrees from Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, and Obafemi Awolowo University. He is 100 days in office, having been appointed by President Bola Tinubu.
