Breaking News: President Bola Tinubu Appionts Senator Jimoh Ibrahim As Nigeria Permanent Representative to the United Nations

Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Senator Jimoh Ibrahim CFR as the Nigeria Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Senator Ibrahim, a Doctorate graduate of the University of Cambridge, got his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a Master’s of Science from the University of Oxford.
He was born in Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo state in 1967. Untill his appointment, Ibrahim was the Chairman of the Nigeria Senate Committee on Interpaliamentary worldwide.
He was elected into the Nigeria Senate in 2023, representing Ondo Southern Senatorial District.
While in the Senate, Dr. Ibrahim was appointed as Interim President of the United Nations Interpaliamentary in Geneva in 2023.
He served as Nigeria’s Representative in ECOWAS and also as Executive Member of African Parliament.
At the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Ibrahim served in the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Finance, Gas, Education, NDDC, Capital M,arket, Diaspora and NGO, Trade and investment, Housing and Niger Delta.
Among the bills initiated an sponsored by Senator Ibrahim include Bill on Bitumen, Federal Medical Centre, Igbotako, Insurance (amendment Act, Nigeria Data Bank.

Dr. Ibrahim popularly adopted Motion passed at the floor of the Senate including Extention of Federal Government Road construction from Ore to Igbokoda, National Security Summit among others.
President of the United Nations interparliamentary has extended a congratulatory message to the Nigeria Senate and President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio on the appointment of Ibrahim to the United Nations as Nigeria Permanent Representative.
In the message, he described Dr. Ibrahim’s appointment as booster to Africa voice.
Ibrahim is a 1990 Law class graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.
