Aseyori Movement Hails Tinubu Over Appointment of Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s UN Envoy

The Aseyori Political Movement has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Head of Mission, describing the decision as a bold affirmation of merit and competence.
In a statement issued by the group’s DG, Dr. Olusegun Ayodele on behalf of its members in Ondo State, across Nigeria and in the diaspora, the movement said the appointment reflects the President’s commitment to national interest and global representation anchored on excellence.
“We commend His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for this thoughtful appointment, which demonstrates his continued dedication to merit, competence and the advancement of Nigeria’s diplomatic interests,” the statement read.
According to the group, the selection of Senator Ibrahim underscores confidence in his intellectual depth, global exposure and professional accomplishments.
“The appointment reflects recognition of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim’s exceptional capacity, intellectual strength and international experience. His background in business, governance and global affairs places him in a strong position to project Nigeria’s interests effectively at the United Nations,” Dr. Ayodele added.
The movement also expressed appreciation to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, for what it described as institutional support extended to Senator Ibrahim during his tenure in the Senate.
“We acknowledge the legislative backing and encouragement provided by the leadership of the Senate, which enabled Senator Ibrahim to actively participate in inter-parliamentary engagements and international missions beyond Nigeria,” said the DG.
It further noted that Senator Ibrahim’s academic credentials, including advanced studies at Harvard University, University of Oxford and University of Cambridge, demonstrate his preparedness for high-level diplomatic responsibilities.
“For members of the Aseyori Political Movement, this appointment is inspiring and reassuring. We are confident that Senator Jimoh Ibrahim will deploy his knowledge, experience and global networks to promote Nigeria’s strategic interests within the United Nations system,” he stated.
