The Chairman of OSOPADEC, Hon. Olugbenga Edema, has reiterated the need to rebrand OSOPADEC.

He said this while he was visiting media houses in Akure and its environs.
Hon. Edema also noted that over the years, OSOPADEC and its mandate areas had been enmeshed in negative publicity, with the potentials of the areas not being highlighted and therefore, unknown to the public, adding that if the potentials were harnessed, solid bedrock for economic development of Ondo State would be laid.
Hon. Edema identified the potentials to include longest Coastline in the Country, Sandy white beaches for recreational activities and nearness to Abuja, Enugu and Port Harcourt when compared to Lagos. He said the development of the mandate areas would help to decongest Lagos especially after the construction of the 50km road linking Araromi and Lekki in Lagos State, the MoU of which the State Government had recently signed with NDDC.
He, therefore, entreated the media establishments to collaborate with the Commission by serving as vehicles that would propagate the mission of OSOPADEC and bring the potentials of its mandate areas to limelight.
In response, the various heads of media establishments said they were glad that the right man for the job was selected by the Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu. They pledged to partner with the Commission in delivering adequate and appropriate publicity for the Commission’s activities and to highlight the potentials of the mandate areas.
The media establishments visited included: Positive Fm, Orange Fm, Adaba Fm, AIT/ Ray power and The Hope Newspaper. Others were Breeze Fm, NTA, the Trace news magazine and the secretariat of Correspondents Chapel of Ondo State NUJ.
