Utako day, MOPOL commandant others honoured

27th day of December 2016 was set aside by the Igbotako Development Forum (IDF), the organizer of the annual Igbotako Day, for the celebration of the important socio-cultural event which has come to take a center stage in the ancient town of Igbotako located in the southern part of Ondo state.

This year edition of the celebration which was full of thrills, fun, excitement and the presentation of award to one of the illustrious son of the the town, who is also the Ogun state Commander in charge of the Mobile Police Force, MOPOL, a Chief Superintendent of Police  (CSP) Bode Ojajuni, alongside with his wife Shade Ojajuni, a United Kingdom-based.

The celebration which  kicked off on an interesting note with a carnival like procession round the community to herald its commencement,  other activities  which include Inter-schools debate, football competition, march past, Athletic competition, Exhibition of traditional wears and food fair as well as gala nite where the ace Ikale local musician,
entertained the guests.

However, what could be described as the most colourful day was Tuesday 27th during the celebration proper. As early as 8 am on that day the venue of the celebration was a beehive of activities. The programme was however flagged off on that day with a colourful procession round  the town by representatives of different youth associations, clubs and societies whose members were resplendently dressed in  traditional dresses of different make and colours.
The excitement became more accentuated at the celebration ground when the organizer of the annual event Igbotako Development Forum presented what they called Community Achievers Award to Olubode Ojajuni in what they called in appreciation of his selfless service to the development of Igbotako community.

Similarly, drummers and traditional singers from the town who were at their best entertained  the spectators and showered more encomium on  Olubode Ojajuni who responded by rewarding them with crisps of currency notes.

Responding, shortly after he was bestowed the award, Ojajuni thanked the people of the ancient community for the honour done on him, the Ogun state MOPOL commanded however promised to continue by doing his best and contribute more to the development  of the community.
