School resumption in Ondo: Commissioner urges students to improve academic performances
As pupils and students of primary and secondary schools resumes for academic work after the Christmas and New Year Holiday today 8th January 2018, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Femi Agagu has charged them to be steadfast in their academic work to enhance performance in both the state and other National and international examinations.
The Commissioner gave this charge while monitoring the resumption exercise today in Akure south and Akure North Local Government areas of the state. He described the children as the leaders of tomorrow, adding that all hands must be on deck to ensure solid foundation for them both morally and academically.
The Commissioner who was represented by the permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mr. Raphael Akin Asaniyan, who stressed that the importance of Education to the overall development of the state cannot be over- emphasized, said the present Administration under the leadership of Mr. Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu made Education a top priority in its platform for change Agenda geared towards rapid development of social and economic strides of the State.
He also advised the students to be disciplined, attentive in class and discard negative activities that could shatter their dreams.
