A 2021 Alumna of the BeMore Empowered Foundation for girls, Miss Taiwo Oniyire, was among the beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Initiative of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who were given National Scholarship Programme (NASP) for Tertiary Education.
The Renewed Hope Initiative, on Saturday 26th August, 2023, gave scholarship grants to 43 students in State and federal tertiary institutions from all the states of the Federation, the FCT and nominees from some other women associations.
Meanwhile, the wife of the Governor of Ondo State nominated Miss Taiwo Oniyire who has passed through her Bemore Empowered Girls foundation and demonstrated the skill she acquired in Solar technology prior to her admission to the Federal University of Technology, FUTA, Akure.
Addressing the beneficiaries and guests at the event held at the Banquet Hall, State House Abuja, Sen. Remi Tinubu hinted that the scholarship grant is one million naira annually for four years with a brand new laptop for each beneficiary.
According to her, the initiative which is a fulfilment of the commitment made to Nigerians, was geared towards providing every child the opportunity to reach their potentials in terms of access to education, regardless of their status and background in the society.
“With the National Scholarship Programme (NASP), we envision a Nigeria where every child , regardless of their circumstances, can access the best education available. It is not just about textbooks and classrooms, it is about igniting curiosity, speaking innovation, and fostering a love of learning that will transcend generations.
While urging the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously as their GPA will be taken into consideration in subsequent years, the First Lady also encouraged them to take on vocational skills.
Responding to the gesture, the Ondo beneficiary thanked the Bemore founder and First Lady of Ondo State, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu for considering her for such opportunity and for creating a platform that brought her and other girls to the limelight.

“This support will not only ease the financial burden of my education but also empower me to excel academically. My success story is never complete without you, Grandma, as you have opened doors of opportunities for me.
“I must also express my gratitude to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for this great privilege. Your act of kindness and generosity has made a profound impact on my life, and I will forever cherish this opportunity. “
She was led to the event by the Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Gender Research and Documentation, Mrs Temitope Daniyan.
