The Acting Vice Chancellor of Ondo state University of science and technology (OSUSTECH), Okitipupa, Prof. Adegoke Adegbite has reiterated the resolve of the University to increase the number of faculties in the University. The two new faculties to be introduced are the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Engineering. He made this high level management resolve known to OndoEvents on the sideline of the second edition of the University’s Christmas Carol, which held in the main bowl of the University hall on Tuesday, the 20th of December, 2016.
The Christmas Carol tagged, “For unto you a child is born, which is Christ The Lord” was a huge success despite the apparent recession in the country, as the hall was filled up by students, staff, management officials and all the invited guests.

The Carol of seven lesson featured special musical presentation and lyrical Christmas numbers from the University special choir, Anglican Church special choir, graduating students choir group and many more.
In his welcome address, the varsity’s vice Chancellor, Prof. Adegbite noted that as human beings, the only thing we owe God is our gratitude. He said it calls for appreciation for us that God has preserved from January till December, hence the reason for the Christmas Carol if only to show our gratitude to God for his love and protection over us.
On the continuation of the Christmas Carol, Prof. Adegbite said, “The Christmas Carol has come to stay and no recession can take it away because Christmas time is a unique time which shows the love of God to send his only son to die, and Jesus who did not refute the onerous task of relinquishing his heavenly glory for sinners to benefit from the mystery of salvation.
The vice Chancellor particularly appreciated the presence of the pro Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of the University, Dr. Amos. Akingba who got the invite on short notice, yet deemed it fit to be available regardless of his tight schedule”.
Among the dignitaries who took the Bible lesson in the course of the Carol were Prof. Olujimi Folarin , Chairman Academic planning Committee of the University ; Prof. Adegbite, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Amos Akingba, the pro Chancellor of the University, Mr. Felix Akinnusi, the University’s Acting Registrar among others.
In his sermon, Revd. Adeleke Adewole of the Baptist Church Okitipupa while congratulating the management of the University for sustaining the noble idea of the Christmas Carol without bias to the not so friendly economic reality of the moment, prayed God to continue to give the Vice Chancellor and his staff direction in their desire to take the University to a greater height. Quoting copiously from the book of Luke chapter 2 verses 10 to 12, Revd Adewole maintained that Christ who we are celebrating his birth in this season brought salvation to the world. He therefore advised Christians to go beyond celebration to knowing him more closely as the Lord and saviour and the only door to God the Father.
In an exclusive interview with OndoEvents, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adegoke Adegbite said, “we thank God for helping us to achieve all that we have been able to achieve in the University.
“By the time we came on board, student population was not as we have it now. We have serious plans to add two more faculties, that is Faculty of Agriculture and faculty of Engineering and we are almost there now as we are expecting the NUC verification team to come and finalize the process.” Prof Adegbite stressed that as soon as the University gets the NUC approval the other two faculties will take off.
Asked for his advice to Christians at yuletide, Prof Adegbite said the people should feel happy as God has made it possible for everyone to witness another Christmas season, noting however that people should apply moderation as they celebrate the birth of Christ and the end of another year.
