Press statement

As part of the build up to the resumption of transmission on the 30th of November 2017, the Management of OSRC led by its Chairman Kunle Adebayo begins sensitization visits to some city centres in Ondo state.

The purpose of the campaigns is to engage critical stakeholders in understanding the recent history of the Station as well as Government’s current capacity building efforts to reposition the station for optimum performance.

It will be recalled that the station was earlier shut down due to incapacity and obsolete equipment which has made discharge of its duties abysmally low.

Over time the Station’s management had embarked on systematic measures to revamp the station and increase its fortune. Some the measures already completed include the right sizing of the staff of the Station from its over bloated number to a small and manageable size of professionals.

The state Government also embarked on acquisition of modern digital equipment for the station while physical rehabilitation of infrastructures and Construction of production facilities are also on going.

The campaigns take the stations Management to the three senatorial districts of the state beginning with visits to their Royal Majesties Osemawe of Ondo, Jegun of Ile Oluji and music icon King Sunny Ade who is also the proprietor of M & C FM in Ondo, tomorrow.

Others scheduled to be visited the subsequent days include Royal Majesties Olukare of Ikare, Olubaka of Oka (28th November)
Olore of Ore, Deji of Akure, Olowo of Owo, (29th of November ), Owa of Idanre, Jegun of Okitipupa & Olu of Igbokoda (4th of December) among others.

The traditional rulers are expected to have in attendance members of their traditional councils, artisan groups, market men and women, youth groups as well as various religious organisation leaders among other stakeholders.
