The newly appointed Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports in Ondo State, Mr Saka Yusuf Ogunleye today (Tuesday) paid an unscheduled courtesy call to the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA).

Mr Yusuf Oguleye in company of the PS, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Gbenga Adelayi, Sports Director, Mr Wande Fabuluje and GM Sports Council, Mrs Idowu Akinbulumo was received by members of ODSFA Interim Management Committee, Tunde Ogunja, Elder Mike Adeyeye, the Agency’s Secretary, Mr OS Akingbasote.

During the visit, Mr Oguleye lauded the efforts of the Otunba (Hon) Gbenga Elegbeleye led Interim Management Committee for rescuing Sunshine Stars at the verge of relegation within a short period.

Yusuf Ogunleye Stated: “I Appreciate the restructuring that has taken place here (ODSFA) and I thank the committee for a job well done in rescuing Sunshine Stars from relegation within a short time.”

“I understand we have a game left (Remo Stars), the same God that helped us win 4-0 against Ifeanyiubah will help us win with higher margin on Saturday. Just as I did on Sunday I will be on ground in Shagamu too for our last match.”

Yusuf Ogunleye who said the Governor Rotimi Akeredolu Government will bring about development through sports and youth engagement promised to work on the poor state of Sports infrastructures across the state and pledged to roll back the good years of sporting activities from the grassroots.

In response ODSFA Interim Management Committee member, Ogunja stated: “Sunshine Stars were practically at the bottom when we took over and now we thanked God we have done credibly well to save the team. I thank the Commissioner for coming and we also appreciate the good working relationship between us and the government.”
