Akeredolu, who was represented by his Deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, advised the organisation to adopt confirmation code used by the National Food and Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NAFDAC) for confirmation of genuine drugs for other products in the country.

According to him, the state government will do everything possible to make the state free of fake and substandard products

His words” if we have standard products, the product can last for years and the society will be better for it”

Earlier, the State Coordinator of SON, Engr. Paul Oke, said the organisation is planning to hold School Clubs Awareness programme for students on fake products across the state.

The Coordinator appealed to the state government on the need  to collaborate with the organisation on the programme to catch students young on fake products as well to prevent the state from being a dumping ground for people  to have value for their money.

Oke disclosed that some gas cylinders transported from Alaba market, Lagos State to Ekiti State recently were impounded by SON in Ondo State.

He said the organisation in Ondo State has zero tolerance for fake products, affirming that any product without SON approval are not genuine one.

He, however, added that every product must also has Nigeria Industrial Standard (NIS) for it to be regarded as good product.
