The Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko on Wednesday said his best accomplishment as the number one citizen of the State is peace.

According to Mimiko during his first meeting with the winner of the last month guber poll in the State, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Wednesday in Akure, the seamless transition he has put in place to usher in a new government in February next year is the first In the history of the State between a civilian to civilian government.

“I keep telling people and I want you to know this, if you go out with an opinion poll, most people will not say my best accomplishments are infrastructure, health, education, most of them will say peace.

“So I think your number one responsibility is to ensure that the peace we have enjoyed in this State in the last 7 and half years is not truancated and working for peace and also tolerate a lot of political tolerance,” he said.

The Governor further assured Akeredolu of his support in the task of governance

In his response, Akeredolu said it will take hard work to surpass the track record and achievements of Mimiko.

The former Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, President commended the Governor for his services to the State and Nigeria at large.

He maintained that Governor Mimiko displayed exemplary leadership quality in various capacities he has served, noting that history will be kind to him for instituting a seamless transition for the incoming government.
