Ondo First Lady Charges Women, Girls To Explore All Professions

Wife of Ondo State Governor, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has called on women and female students to explore all professions, particularly those acclaimed to be exclusive preserve of male child.
She stated this on Saturday while addressing the audience at the launching of a book entitled: “WE LIVE THESE LIVES” written by Mrs. Ezinne Ibe at the Law Hub, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The book, which is a chronicle of experiences of some 21 women, was described by Chief Anyanwu-Akeredolu as a success story of Female Professionals’ Bookclub led by Mrs. Ezinne Ibe.

The Sunshine State First Lady, who was represented at the occasion by her Media aide, Rowland Onyeukwu said: “They claimed some professions are preserve of male child, we disagreed and pushed forward our girls, who eventually demystified their claim, as they excelled beyond belief.
“As if you don’t know, we(women) have been indoctrinated and our psyche tampered with to believe the women are made for the lower rungs of the ladder of greatness in life.
“Never again shall women take the back seat in decision-making in this nation, Nigeria.
“It is so clear now that no height is too high for us(females) to climb. We shall continue to soar to greater heights resiliently.
“How happy I am, I have winners in Ezinne Ibe and her team, who chronicled these 21 great women’s experiences.”
Highlights of the event include; the unveiling of the book, book review by contributors, and music performance.
The well attended event had Women from all works of life, Religious leaders, other dignitaries in attendance.
