Ondo First Lady Challenges Christian Women to Stand Firm in Their Faith
Christian Women in Ondo State have been challenged to always stand firm in their faith even in the face of trials and temptations.
Wife of Ondo state governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu gave this challenge in Akure today at the 35th Annual Diocesan Mothers’ Union Conference of the Anglican Diocese of Akure, held at St Michael’s Anglican Church Ijare West, with the theme; ” Do not compromise your faith.”
Mrs Akeredolu also appealed to the conference delegates to join in the fight against Breast Cancer as ambassadors in their different communities by preaching the message of hope such as “Early detection saves Lives, Breast Cancer is curable” Etc.
In her Presidential address, the President of Women’s Organizations and the wife of the Anglican bishop of Akure diocese, Princess Christiana Adetunmbi Borokini x-rayed the lives of heros of faith according to the book Hebrews chapter 11, whom she said conquered kingdoms, administered justice, gained what was promised, shut the mouth of lions, quenched the fury of the flames and escaped the edged of the sword through their faith and urged Christians to emulate them as they can only please God by having faith.
On the state of the nation, Mrs Borokini thanked God for what she called “smooth transition of government” that brought in the Akeredolu led administration in Ondo State and prayed God to grant them peace and monumental achievements in their tenure and also called on women to support the “Change begins with me “ campaign of the federal government.
Highlights of the conference are the investiture of Ondo state First Lady as grand Matron of the Women Ministries and Mothers’ Union and the presentation of a basket of Kolanut to the governor’s wife by the host community (Ijare) as what they are known for.
