Ondo Election: Akeredolu APC candidate promises to site refinery, sea port in Igbokoda

Barrister Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Nov. 26 governorship election in Ondo State have promised to site refinery and seaport in the state, if elected as governor.

The legal luninary also said that he would relocate the Ondo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (OSOPADEC) from Akure to Igbokoda to make it closer to the people for efficiency and effectiveness.

Akeredolu made this promise on Monday during his canpaign rally to the oil rich Ilaje Local Government Area of the state

He said that the party affiliation with the Federal Government would help fastrack the projects which would create more jobs for indigenes of the state.

“The riverine area in our state is blessed with crude oil and have the largest coastal line, we will relocate the OSOPADEC to Igbokoda to fascilitate the siting of refinery and the seaport.

“We will bring in foreign expert to help exploits our natural and agricultural reasources which will eate jobs for our youths and boost our economy,” Akeredolu said.

He, however, urged the eletorate to troop out and vote him and his running mate, Agboola Ajayi for indigenes to benefit from goodies and turnaround that the state would witness in a shortwhile after swearing in.

Ealier, His Royal Majesty, Oba Lawrence Omowole, the Amapetu of Mahin kingdom in Ilaje LGA in his palace urged Akeredolu to fulfil his eletoral promises to the people if elected as governor.

He gave his royal blessings to Akeredolu and appeal to his supporters not to engage in do or die politics but accept the result of the poll in good faith.

Also, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Fredrick Obateru-Akinruntan, the Oluigbo of Ugbo Kingdom also gave his royal blessings to Akeredolu urging him to uphold peace in the election.

“When i was a nobody then, Akeredolu helped me a lot, infact he registered my first petrol station without collecting a dime, so i wish him goodluck in this election,” Oba Obateru-Akinruntan said.

Meanwhile, Hon. Bolaji Odidi, a representative, Association of Ondo State Indigenes in the Diaspora, UK Chapter, also urged the electorate to vote for Akeredolu saying that he has all the qualities of a good leadership.

“We support Akeredolu for his fearlessness, uprightness and truthfulness, he can be trusted with the leadership mace, this we can assure Ondo indigenes,” he said
