The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo North Senatorial District has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to seek re-election in the 2019 Presidential election.
Rising from its maiden meeting in Owo, attended by the APC leader in Ondo State who is also the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN; State Chairman, Engineer Ade Adetimehin; Secretary to the State Government, Hon Ifedayo Abegunde; members of the State House of Assembly and members of the State Executive Council from the zone, the six Local Governments Chairmen of the party with top notchers of the party in the District called on President Muhammadu Bihari to seek re-election in 2019.
The party in its resolutions read by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale also passed a vote of confidence on Governor Akeredolu and urged all members to continue to work assiduously towards the success of APC state.
The APC in the District also threw its weight behind the tenure elongation of Chairmen and their executives from the National to the Ward levels with their executive members as agreed at the National Working Comittee meeting in Abuja during the week and therefore resolved to cooperate with the State Chairman and his executive members to continue to advance the course of the Party in the state.
In his address at the meeting Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, appreciated officers and members. in the District for their unflinching support during the last gubernatorial election and their commitments to the progressive ideals of APC.
The governor assured members of the party seeking elective posts in the forthcoming general election in Ondo State of a level playing ground devoid of sentiments and favour.
While stressing the importance of the tenure extension of the party executives from Ward to National levels, Governor Akeredolu noted that it would help the party to perform well and record victory in all elections.
He therefore solicited the cooperation and support of party leaders as well as faithfuls for his administration to deliver on all his campaign promises to the people.
In his address of welcome the APC Chairman in the District, Prince Femi Osedimibola had congratulated the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, for delivering meaningfully on the electoral promises made to the people of the state.
Prince Osedimibola stated that the impacful performances of Governor Akeredolu across Ondo State have remained the source of pride to APC and major attractions of members of other political parties to APC for which the membership of the party is increasing daily in the state.
“In the last one year, our own Arakunrin, the Governor of Ondo State has worked very hard in making Ondo State better than he met it.
” We have benefited immensely from all appointments made so far “, he said.
He advised the people in the District which comprises six Local Government Areas to continue to be united to enable the APC State controlled government continue to work to enable it make life meaningful for the people of the state.
In his solidarity message the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde lauded the outstanding achievements of the Akeredolu-led government in just one year across the state.
The Special Adviser on Rural and Community Development to the governor who was the Director General during the 2016 Governorship Election, Rt. Hon Victor Olambitan assured that APC was in government for serious business to turn around the fortunes of citizens of Ondo State.
The Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Prince Solagbade Amodeni said APC would raise the bar of governance in Ondo State to the level whereby succession determined by integrity and commitments to good governance which are the hallmark of the administration of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The meeting applauded the sterling deliverables of the governor across the state when the Special Adviser to the Governor on Land, Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Raimi Aminu mentioned one after the other some of the star projects either executed or flagged off by the Akeredolu administration in one year in office.
The Chairmen of APC in each of the six Local Government Areas in the District: Akoko North West, Musa Olusegun ; Akoko North East, Mr Tito Babalola; Akoko South East,; Ajibola Joshua; Akoko South West, Mr Daodu Bolakale; Ose, Mr Jacob Oredola and Owo Chief Sydney Ogunleye took turn to report on the progress and challenges of APC in their respective council areas.
The Majority Leader in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Joseph Araoyinbo assured that the State House of Assembly, would continue to cooperate with the State Governor in his determination to transform the state.
Reporting on the meetings of the National Leadership of APC held in Abuja during the week, the Chairman of APC, Engineer Ade Adetimehin described Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as a pride to the state and an asset to the APC family nationwide judging by the applause which greeted his contributions at every stage of the meetings.
He hinted on plans by the State Working Committee of the Party to set-up committees that will from time to time visit its Local Government chapters to have first hand information on their progress and challenges.
In their good messages some Chieftains of the Party who include: Chief Joseph Babatunde Afolabi; Senatorial Women Leader, Mabel Balogun; State Women Leader, Chief Omolara Atiba and Dr Tunji Abayomi, expressed delight that Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had in one year raised the bar of good governance.
