Olowa felicitates Muslim faithfuls, call for peaceful coexistence

The Paramount Ruler and Prescribed Authority, Olowa of Igbara-Oke kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede has charged the Muslims in Nigeria to live in peace with one another. The monarch gave this charge at the 2019 Eid-El-Kabir celebration where he observed the prayer with Muslims brethren at the Eid Praying Ground in Igbara-Oke.

Oba Agbede said the time has come where people of all religions and other interest groups need to come together and promote unity, peace and common understanding in Igbara-Oke. He said Islam is a religion of peace, and commended the Muslims for their cooperation with other religions to sustain peaceful co-existence. He said without this, there will be no development.

The monarch also commended the Chief Imam of Akure Land, Alhaji Dr. Abdulakeem Yayi Akorede for the kind leadership he has exhibited as the leader of League of Imam and Alfas in Ondo State. He said he appreciated the visit of Alhaji Akorede to his palace, and the exemplary lifestyle of Alhaji Akorede is worthy of emulation, being a revered person among the Muslims Clerics.

While expressing gratitude for the kind love that has been established among the Muslim community in Igbara-Oke, he therefore urged them to continue to cooperate with him in his efforts at bringing all religions together as one family.

Earlier in his address, the Chief Imam of Igbara-Oke, Alhaji Kilani Adetiloye appreciated the love and support Oba Agbede has been given the Muslims community in Igbara-Oke. He said the monarch has been an ardent supporter of Muslims in Igbara-Oke.
