For proper distribution of Ondo State Palliatives to cushion the effects of COVID-19 pandemic, the Ondo State Palliatives Committee on COVID-19, Okitipupa local government Chapter headed by the State Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology Pastor Femi Agagu has marshalled out how the palliatives would be distributed .

Welcoming Committee members into the meeting held today at Okitipupa LG Council Secretariat, Agagu thanked them for honouring the assignment.

Stating that, Ondo State is in the hands of God, he urged the people to cooperate with the government, adding that Akeredolu’s government is not unmindful of the difficulties and inconveniences the ongoing restrictions is having on the people, stressing that they are undoubtedly in the best public interest.

On the palliatives, Agagu said “the palliatives is meant for the vulnerables and the poor particularly the poorest of the poor, no party or religion affiliation”.

“The beneficiaries list should cut across all the vulnerables and the needy irrespective of the party they belong” , he further warned.

And for seemless distribution, the LG Committee was sub divided into two ;

Constituency 1 Committee is to be Chairmaned by the Lawmaker representing Okitipupa LG constituency 1, Hon Akintomide Akinrogunde.

While Constituency 2 Committee is to be Chairmaned by Lawmaker representing Okitipupa LG constituency 2, Hon Ololade Gbegudu, with Ladi Okunniga as the Media Officer.

To Okitipupa LG Council Chairman, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, he advised Committee members on the need “to protect their names, generate sincere names and distributes fairly” .

While SUBEB Chairman, Princess Oladunni Odu used the meeting to remind everyone on the prevention of COVID-19.

“I admonish you not to abandon the preventive measures put in place by the Federal and State Governments to contain the spread of coronavirous” , she said.

“Now, there is the need for you all to be passionate and always make meaningful contributions towards positive development and progress of our dear State and the country at large” , she further advised.

In their own little words, both Hon Akintomide Akinrogunde and Hon Ololade Gbegudu commends the LG Council, Party leaders, Community Leaders, Religious leaders, Stakeholders and others for their complementing State government’s efforts in COVID-19 awareness campaigns and palliatives to rural communities.

Meanwhile, the distribution of the State COVID-19 Palliatives for Okitipupa LG is scheduled for the POLICE STATIONS in the respective communities across the LG tomorrow.

Amongst those in the Committee are Pastor Femi Agagu, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, Princess Oladunni Odu, Hon Jones Ogunmusire ably represented by Chief Tayo Eniku, Hon Akintomide Akinrogunde and Hon Ololade Gbegudu.

Others are, Hon Igbekele Akinrinwa, Chief Ola Iwaeni, Hon Olayeye Ayeniyi, Hon Alex Gbologe, Ladi Okunniga, Chief Imam of Okitipupa Alhaji Kamarudeen Akinyemi, CAN Representative and all the 13 LG Supervisory councillors.
