Oka Day 2018: Iroha, football scouts graced football tourney in Akoko

Bennedict Iroha, ex-Super Eagles star and Football scouts in and outside the country attended the final match of  Akogun Olugbenga Omole Football Competition for Oka Day 2018.

Akogun Olugbenga Omole is the Education Secretary of Akoko South West and a House of Assembly Aspirant for Akoko South West Constituency 1 on the platform of APC come 2019 election.

The final match of the competition was played at Ojomirin High School Agba, Oka on Friday.

The competition had started on July 11 with 13 teams paticipating.

The organisers made it known that 11 best players selected from the 13 clubs were guaranteed a life changing career in football with the help of the scouts present.

It was also announced that the winner would go home with mouth watering gifts and rewards.

“We are delighted to announce to you the arrival of Ex Super Eagles Benedict Iroha to Akoko Land and he is the main special guest of honour in the Final match”.

Ondo State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye was the Special Guest of Honour while Chief Alex Ajipe, CEO of Klickonnect, is the Chairman of the occasion.

Other Dignitaries and Football Enthusiast also graced the event.

The 3rd place match played earlier was won by Goodwill Ibaka and  Ikese FC, defeated Ebinrin FC by 2-1 at the final.

The high point of the event was the presentation of Medals and Trophy to various winners.

The Winner went home with a giant Trophy and one hundred thousand naira, while the first runner up went home with fifty thousand naira and the second Place went home with thirty thousand naira only.

Eleven best players in the tournament had been shortlisted for enrollment into a reputable football academy.
