The ancient town of Okeigbo, in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo local government area of Ondo state was recently agog, following the installation of the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) Okitipupa, Professor Tolu Odugbemi, as the new Baba-Ijo of St. Luke Anglican Church Okeigbo.

Among the eminent personalities that graced the occasion were, the Osemawe and paramount ruler of Ondo kingdom, Oba Dr Victor Kiladejo, the Ahaba of Ajagba in Irele local government, Oba Thomas Adesayo, a former speaker Lagos State House of Assembly and Senator representing Lagos East, Olurunmbe Mamora.

Others were a former member of the Independent Corrupt Practice and other related of Offences Commission (ICPC) who is also the Lisa of Ondo town, High Chief Simeon Oguntimehin, wife of the former Jegun of Ile-Oluji, Olori Florence Adedugbe, the Odunwo of Ondo town, High Chief Olabanji Akingbule, Professor Gbenga Adeodu, Mrs. Abimbola Olayinka as well several captains of industries University dons, friends and family of the former Vice-chancellor to mention a few.

Speaking shortly after performing the installation, the Bishop of Ondo diocese of the Anglican Communion,  Most Reverend George Lasebikan, described Professor Odugbemi as a good christian and a University don, who has used his experiences in transforming his environment for good and the church of God in general.

Lasebikan, who is also the Bishop in charge of Ondo and Ekiti Ecclastical diocese of the church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion)  congratulated the the former Vice-chancellor of the University of Lagos, over his installation as the new Baba-Ijo of Saint Luke Axng.ican church Okeigbo, however stressed the need for him to continue in the same way by using his position in the field of academic by impacting into the church of God.

The religious leader who also stressed the need for him to continue to use the position which God Almighty has endeared him to transform Saint Luke Anglican Church, Okeigbo for good and the church of God in particular.

Lasebikan who explained further that the array of personalties that present at the installation ceremony is a clear indication that the former Vice-chancellor did not impacted into the lives of the members of the Anglican Church alone, but the society at large.

Responding, the highly elated former Vice-chancellor and the new Baba-ijo of Saint Luke Anglican Church, Okeigbo, Professor Tolu Odugbemi, thanked the Anglican Church for counting him worthy to be the Baba-ijo of the church, he promised to continue by impacting into the house of God and the society at large.

The high point of the event held at the auditorium of the church in Okeigbo town was the investiture of the Professor of Medicine as the new Baba-ijo of Saint Luke Anglican Church, also featured songs rendition by members of church quire, communion services, bible reading, prayer and thanksgiving.
