ODSG Seeks Stakeholders Support Towards Making Ondo State Clean
In a bid to maintain a clean and hygienic environment across Ondo state, the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources has appealed to traditional rulers, Community, religious and Political leaders to support its drive in making Ondo the cleanness state in Nigeria
Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, Mr Folorunso Esan made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Deji in Council held at the Deji’s Palace in Akure.
He said the sanitation team of the Ministry deemed it fit to inform the traditional authority about its proposed plan to clear Ondo State street and highways trading which intend to begin soon, starting from Akure the State capital.
He said so many complaints about dirty environment have been generating concern for the ministry and the state government which needs urgent attention starting from the approval of the Deji who oversees the concerned citizens.
Responding, the Deji of Akure ,Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo, appreciated the Ministry for the honour done him, saying the Deji in Council is fully in support of the exercise to make Akure the best state capital but appealed to the management of the ministry to be tactical in the timing and implementation of the cleaning exercise.
He however called on the state government to upgrade the existing Oja Oba market thereby giving it a face lift that is in tandem with modern day international market.
