In its efforts to ensure strict compliance with the extant rules of Physical Planning, the Ondo State government blew hot on the recalcitrant nature of some illegal developers on government industrial estate behind Auto-mart along Ilesha/Owo express road.
Prince Solagbade Amodeni, Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development who led the enforcement squad of the ministry on its regular inspection tour stated that the contravening structures had earlier been marked but the recalcitrant developers went ahead with the construction without recourse to Physical Planning laws.
The Commissioner maintained that the industrial estate is strictly for industrial purposes and also to generate revenue for the government from land services. He therefore directed that the contraventions be red-marked for demolition.
Speaking at Shasha market while inspecting some shops built without due observance of the required set-back from the highway, Prince Amodeni described the action of the developer as not being in conformity with laid down rules and as such, red-marked the illegal structures with the intent of taking further necessary actions.
