The Ondo state government, as part of its effort in ensuring peace and its sustainability mediates in an imbroglio that resorted from land-use related issues between the Ajagba Kingdom in Irele Local government of Ondo State and the Omojuwa family, a settler in the community from Edo State, where the community purposefully reserved the land and the present occupier wants it for agricultural purposes.

The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Prince Solagbade Amodeni who was at the site under reference, a stretch of land from Zion area of Ajagba to Otu river, said such an expanse of land should not have been left unused for such a long time as this had allowed for its misuse.
He however, asked that the present occupiers Olaniyan and Sola Omojuwa, who were not around as at the time of the visit, be issued demand notice an invitation to the ministry in Akure to state their own part before knowing the next line of action.
Earlier while speaking, the Ahaba of Ajagba, Oba Thomas Oluwole Adesayo J.P made it known that the peace of land had been deliberately reserved for future developmental projects, but the occupier he believed secretly took possession during the period of interregnum of 16 years in the town.
The Commissioner and the enforcement squad of the ministry moved to another proposed site for gas station along Ayeka road, Okitipupa where he said the land size and its use is appropriate and it’s not within built-up area, same as the gas station at Ayomi street along Okitipupa/Erinje road.
However, Prince Amodeni who was alarmed at the sight of a gas retail outlet wrongly located beside a mechanic shed said ” it is gravely hazardous to dispense such a highly flammable substance as gas closely beside a mechanic shed where welding and panel-beating are done”, he ordered immediate impoundment of some equipments found and ensured that Contravention notice was issued to the operator of the outlet Kamoju Gas services at Igbokoda, Okitipupa road.
The Commissioner said the state government will not relent until the state is rid of all contravening structures and it is placed on the desired pedestal.
