Oba Akadri Momoh, High Chiefs, Landlords, Party Chieftains hail Akeredolu on massive road constructions
Residents of various communities in Ondo State are appreciating the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, over the massive road construction going on across the state despite being less than three months in office.
Latest of the people’s expression of joy came when the governor began inspection of some road projects in some parts of the state.
At Abusoro in Akure South Local Government Area, highly elated residents trooped out in large numbers to welcome the governor with songs of appreciation.
The people said their incessant plea for the the construction of the road was not acceded to over the years by past administrations.
According to one of the landlords in the area, Evang. Idowu Ariyo, “We thank Governor Akeredolu for what he has done for us in Abusoro community. This particular road, being a major road has posed a serious challenge to us. We thank you for ending the sufferings this road had subjected us to”, he said.
Another landlord in the community, Pastor Abraham Adetipe in his remarks, lauded the governor’s giant stride at constructing the road that had been in a very bad shape for years.
Youths in the area also came out carrying placards with different inscriptions appreciating the governor.
Addressing the people, Arakunrin Akeredolu who expressed satisfaction over the quality of job being done by the contractor, said his government has come to put smiles on the faces of residents of the community as part of his commitment towards fulfilling the pledge made to them during its campaign.
The story was not different in Idanre, where the residents troop out in their hundreds also carrying placards with various inscriptions praising the governor and singing various songs in honour of the governor for the kind gesture over the construction of the road linking Opasorun and Okelisa communities.
Speaking on behalf of the communities, Mr Folorunso Akinlusi thanked the governor for his intervention which has ended the nightmare the road had caused residents of the area.
Also, the State Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress,APC, Engr. Ade Adetimehin thanked the governor for making his promise to the community a reality. He promised on behalf of Idanre and environs to continually reciprocate the kind gesture of the the governor.
Managing Director of Dotmund & Company Limited, the firm handling the project, Engr. Pius Ayodele who promised the delivery of a quality job, assured that the road would be delivered very shortly.
Arakunrin Akeredolu in his response, applauded the contractor handling the project for undertaking quality job. He assured of more road constructions as soon as the state becomes more buoyant.
In Ikare-Akoko, the Governor inspected the ongoing construction of a giant Adagbon bridge linking many streets in Oyinmo community and another bridge that links Isakunmi and Odoruwa communities in Akoko North East Local Government Area.
Also inspected were the 2km Jubilee-Ugbe road construction, during which Engineer Ala Deen who is handling the project assured the governor of its completion very soon. The governor was also conducted across the ongoing Oke-Alabojuto road under construction which is also in the acient town of Ikare Akoko.
Speaking at the site of the project, the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh who lauded the governor for his immediate response and for personally inspecting the projects, assured him of their unflinching support towards the success of his administration.
Also commending the governor’s inspiring efforts, an elder from Oyinmo community, Chief Adulu Lasisi, showered encomiums on Governor Akeredolu for ending the sufferings of inhabitants of the area who have suffered untold hardships over the failed bridges that have been neglected by past governments.
In his response, Arakunrin Akeredolu said the construction of the culverts became imperative when the photographs of the failed culverts were presented to him by Oba Adebori Adeleye.
He assured the residents of timely completion of the project but appealed to them to be patient so that they would have quality jobs that will last a whole life
On the prolonged power outage raised by residents, the governor appealed to them to be calm. He said he had met with the Management of Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, and had promised to restore electricity to the affected areas very soon.
