Mrs Akeredolu tasks Nigerian youths on patriotism

Nigerian Youths have been urged to believe in Nigeria and contribute their own quota to the noble course of building a new Nigeria.

Wife of Ondo State Governor, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu gave the challenge in a Goodwill Message presented at the Fix Nigeria Project, organized by Reformers Initiative Group at the Ridge Event Centre Owerri.

Ondo State First Lady who spoke through her Media aide Rowland Onyeukwu, reminded Nigerian Youths that the course of Fixing Nigeria can be made possible through Participation, Advocacy and Commitment towards education (girl child inclusive) Technological advancement, Entrepreneurship, leadership and Mentorship, Strict adherence to the rule of law, Gender equality, Youth participation in Agriculture, amongst others.

Mrs Akeredolu observed that Nigeria is on a journey towards greatness and in no time will reach her destination citing a popular saying that “Rome was not built in a day” adding that it was built daily and called on Nigeria Youths to make daily commitment to building a Nigeria that will be a wonder to the world at large.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Director General of Reformers Initiative Group, Prince Joseph Nwosu-Okorie said that the group is a coalition of students, educators, pastors, entrepreneurs who all share the common goal of empowering and reorienting young people and promoting transformational leadership.

The Special Adviser to Bayelsa State Governor on Entertainment and Culture and a renowned Gospel Music luminary, Asu Ekiye said in his presentation that it will take Nigerians to rebuild Nigeria and called on Nigerians to demonstrate high sense of patriotism in all their endeavors.

The event featured Music Concert, Breast Cancer Awareness and Presentation of Awards.

National Association of Nigerian Students NANs, Youth based NGOs, Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria BRECAN, Nigerian law enforcement agencies, Federation of Gospel Music Ministers of Nigeria FOGMMON, were represented at the event.
