As part of her strategic moves to ensure amicable resolution of conflicts, adherence to the rule of law and protection of the dignity of Girl-Child and womanhood in Ondo State, the Wife Ondo State Governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has suspended her proposed protest against Rape in Ondo State, earlier scheduled for Thursday, 8th August, 2019.

A statement by her Press Secretary, Miss Tobiloba Fademi, in Akure stated that the Wife of the Governor has carefully monitored the progress of events as it relates to the issue and has deemed it necessary to suspend the planned “1 Million-Woman Protest March Against Rape in Army Uniform ” due to current security report and also allow constituted authorities continue their actions in line with the principle of fundamental human rights and dignity of rape victims, noting that she will not be distracted till the case has reached a logical conclusion.

The Wife of the Governor therefore appreciated the government of Ondo State, all top government functionaries, political, religious and opinion leaders, civil society organisations, women organizations, journalists and all stakeholders for their proactive actions on the matter, as well as their support and loyalty to her cause for a safer society.
