Mrs. Akeredolu, Ooni, Obi others in Ondo for Osemawe daughter’s wedding
The wife of the Ondo State Governor Mrs. Betty-Anyanwu Akeredolu, the Senator representing Lagos central at the Upper Legislative House, Sen. Olorunmbe Mamoora, the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi as well as the Obi of Onisha, His Royal Majesty Nnaemeka Achebe were among the dignitaries that present in Ondo town at the weekend during the solemnization of holy matrimony between former Miss Yewande Faderera Kiladejo the daughter of the Osemawe of Ondo kingdom, Oba Dr. Victor Kiladejo and Oreoluwa Odunayo.
Others were the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, wife of the former Governor of Ondo State, Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko, Special Adviser to President Muhammad Buhari on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Ondo State Head of Service, Bar. Toyin Akinkuotu as well as the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh, Royal Fathers across the country, members of the political class among others.
In a sermon delivered at church service held at the Cathedral Church of Saint Stephen Oke-Aluko Ondo, the Bishop of Ondo diocese of the Church of Nigeria ( Anglican Communion) Most Revd. Latunji Lasebikan stressed the need for the couple to be submissive to each other.
Lasebikan who is also the Archbishop of Ondo and Ekiti Ecclesiastical province of the Anglican Church of Nigeria also admonished them to acknowledge the fact that there is a difference between marriage ceremony and marriage itself.
The religious leader who listed three ways through which marriage could be sustained by couple as including the recognition of the fact that marriage involved give and take, recognition of the importance of effective communication among each other as well as the recognition that marriage required friendship and fellowship.
He advised them to love and submissive to each other, however expressed lamentation lamentation about what he observed as the prevalent of broken marriages in the contemporary society, the cleric who alluded to several portions of the bible to drive home his message, said that the trend was not the plan of God for people.
The Archbishop however explained that the problem of broken marriages could be avoided when couple adheres strictly to the following which he mentioned to include, marriage oath, the word of God according to the scripture, exhibit unflinching love, submissive and trust towards each other.
Lasebikan while congratulating and rejoiced with the parents of the couple also harped on the need for them to search the scriptures constantly in order to be acquainted with the word of God saying thus would not only help to cement the bond of relationship between them but also prevent Satan from interfering in their marital affairs.
On the need for couple to shun infidelity, the clergyman said this was necessary in order for them not to flout the commandments of God. He however admonished Christians to remain steadfast in their service by ensuring that they do not compromise principles as stated in the bible while stressing the need for them to remain faithful, prayerful and exhibit integrity, hardwork and seek for the baptismal of the holy spirit.
In his royal message to the couple at the occasion, the Osemawe of Ondo, Oba Dr Victor Kiladejo reminded them of the need to exhibit tolerance with one another, share views and ideal together and learn how to settle their differences without recourse to outside interference.
The well attended church service which featured thanksgiving, donations, prayers and blessing for the couple, bible readings, songs rendition by members of quire of the church as well as presentation of certificate to the couple.
The event later followed with a grand reception at the expansive Oba Adesanoye Civic centre in Ondo town where a popular Juju musician, King Sunday Adegeye entertained the guess.
