Betty Akeredolu Leads Others To “Jog For Life” as BRECAN 20th anniversary draws to an end
It was a carnival-like on Saturday in Akure the capital of Ondo State as the founder of Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN and wife of Ondo State Governor, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, joined other participants to embarked on jogging activities as part of the activities marking the end of the week-long celebration of 20th anniversary of Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN).
The possession of the jogging activities led by Mrs. Akeredolu and tagged “Jog for Life” was fully participated by the survivors of the Breast Cancer disease as well as top government officials, women groups as well political office holders kicked off by 7:00am from NEPA Neighbourhood Market to Arcade Ground, Igbatoro Road Akure.
The participants in their thousands in branded pink colour T-shirts including the wife of the deputy Governor, Mrs. Ajewole Ajayi, sang various solidarity songs in supports of the total eradication of cancer in Nigeria.
The event which also featured dancing competition, award of cash of about N50,000 and prices to the lead winner which was sponsored by shoprite PLC Akure branch.
Addressing Journalist shortly after the programme, Mrs Akeredolu said the event is part of the activities marking the end of the 20th anniversary of BRECAN in Nigeria.
She further solicited for the supports of the members of the public, saying the move would further help in eradicating the dreaded disease in Nigeria.
