The wife of Ondo State governor, Arabirin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu was among the dignitaries who graced the traditional engagement ceremony of the son of the state Chairman of Universal Basic Education, SUBEB, Princess Oladunni Odu, held at Balmoral hall, Oregun, Ikeja in Lagos state.

Commissioners for Finance, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa, (Information and Strategy), Mr. Yemi Olowolabi,( Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs), Mrs. Lola Fagbemi, and (Education and Technology), Pastor Femi Agagu.

Also present were the deputy speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Deji Iroju, APC Chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin, Prof. Wole Akeredolu, Special Adviser to the governor on Transportation, Mr. Tobi Ogunleye, Special Adviser on Public and intergovernmental affairs, Mrs. Bunmi Ademosu, and Special Adviser on Health, Mr. Jibayo Adeyeye, HRH Oba Michael Obatuga Adetoye, Jegun of Idepe-Okitipupa, Regent of Ayeka kingdom, HRH Princess Oluyemi Bajowa and husband Gen. Olu Bajowa (rtd) among others.

Mrs. Akeredolu who led the cutting of the wedding cake congratulated the new couple and prayed for the grace to sustain the union till the very end.

She charged them to be perseverance and tolerate each other. ” Wedding is a thing of joy for every family, I rejoice with the couple and both family and I wish the couple the best, and fruits of the womb”, she said.

The Chairman of the occasion, the Jegun of Idepe, Oba Michael Obatuga described marriage as an institution ordained by God from the beginning, and therefore advised the couple to let Jesus be the pillar of their union.

He advised the groom to treat his wife as a mother and jewel.

His words: “God has joined you together, it will be permanent. One thing is fundamental, accept Christ as your foundation, challenges may come but with trust in God, you will surmount them”.

The groom’s mother, Mrs. Oladunni Odu charged the couple to respect one each other and learn to apologise.

“I will first of all tell them to take God as their number one, and secondly, love and respect each other, and always say sorry when you offend your partner”. She advised.
