BEMORE Summer Bootcamp kicked off in style yesterday with prayers, physical exercise, streams of sumptuous meals and interesting lectures on the social imperatives of digitisation in the 21st century.
An introduction by the BEMORE Summer Bootcamp technical partner, SEED DEV, led the participants through a story by the C.T.O of Planet NEST, a Tech hub for software developer in Akure. Banjo Mofesola Paul inspired the girls with a life account of his growth in the world of technology.
This was followed by an orientation and overview of ICT course outline and the curriculum. Their daily schedule for the next two weeks, class requirements and tasks were laid out to them. Some of the course outline were listed to include Computer Appreciation; Computer Hardware maintenance; How to use Microsoft office productivity tools like Microsoft word, Microsoft excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Also the girls will learn about Scratch programming; Games design with Kodu game lab; Creative Publishing and graphics design with Corel draw to mention few.
The C.O.O of Ashdam Solar, Asaleye Damilola shared her story about being a tech woman in the renewable energy industry to encourage the girls and motivate them to be bold in their chosen field.

After an exposition on Menstral hygiene and management by Dr. Aragbaye, the girls proceeded to the cafeteria for another round of mouth nutritious meals.
The girls then went for their lecture on solar renewable energy on the topics Climate Change Awareness; Effects of Green House Gases on the climate ; Solutions to climate change ; What can be done as girls to reduce effects of climate change and climax was Climate change story told by Glory Oguebu.
