Ilaje in diaspora has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari on the nomination of Olatokunbo Ajasin as a member-designate representing Ondo State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
In the petition, Ilaje National Association, USA rejected the nomination. They consequently begged President Buhari to order the withdrawal of the list and replace Olatokunbo Ajasin with a credible person from the oil-producing areas of Ilaje local Government of Ondo State.

ILAJE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF USA VEHEMENTLY OPPOSE THE APPOINTMENT OF MR OLATOKUNBO AYOTUNDE AJASIN AS A MEMBER REPRESENTING ONDO STATE ON THE BOARD OF NIGER DELTA DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (NNDC )
Our attention has been drawn to the appointment of Mr OLATOKUNBO AYOTUNDE AJASIN from Owo Local government of the North Senatorial District of Ondo state to the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission( NNDC) as Commissioner representing Ondo State
Having critically examined and review the situation and circumstances surrounding the said appointment at high powered level meeting of our Association and with the greatest sense of objectivity not only as bonafide indigenes of Ilaje but also as patriotic citizens of Nigeria ,we have come to the following conclusion regarding the appointment aforementioned above
(1)That the said appointment of Mr OLATOKUNBO AYOTUNDE AJASIN referred to above is
illegal and be nullified as it is contrary to the Enabling Law
creating the NNDC
(2) That Section 2 (1b)of the law referred to above specifically and categorically stipulates as follows “One person who shall be indegene of an oil producing area to represent each of the nine oil producing States namely Abia,Akwa Ibom, Bayesa Cross River, Delta,,Edo,,Imo, ,Ondo and Rivers.
(3)That the said Mr OLATOKUNBO AYOTUNDE AJASIN is not from Ilaje local government area of Ondo State and therefore not eligible or qualified for such appointment as stipulated by law
(4)That further to the fact that the said appointment is an aberration in law, it is unprecedented can not serve the purpose of justice.
Based on all the matters aforementioned above, we therefore unequivocally demand the immediate nullification of the said appointment of Mr OLATOKUNBO AYOTUNDE AJASIN to the Board of NNDC and urge Mr President to accordingly replace him with any credible indigene of Ilaje local government area of Ondo State.
Mr President , it is our position that a situation whereby Ilaje ,the economic emporium of Ondo State will now become pawn in the political chess game of Ondo State is highly unacceptable.
We have already appealed to our people to remain peaceful ,While we count on you to come to equity and do justice in this matter.
We anticipate your prompt action .
