Ifon agog as Gov Akeredolu inspects road construction projects
Residents of the ancient town of Ifon in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State have appreciated the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for his commitment to opening up the state for meaningful development.
The people who trooped out spontaneously on sighting the governor in their domain inspecting ongoing road projects, showered encomiums on him who has barely spent two and half months in office and has performed across all sectors.
The Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adegoke Adeusi thanked the governor for giving Ifon a befitting face lift by the ongoing road construction projects in the town.
Oba Adeusi who said Ose Local Government Area and Ifon in particular did not have any meaningful government project in the 8 years of the immediate past administration, however praised Governor Akeredolu for counting his domain worthy to benefit from the massive road projects going on throughout the state.
Also the retired Bishop of Cherubim and Seraphim, Oke-Igbala, Ifon ,Bishop David Oripe said in his 82years of age, the town has never witnessed the present state of government attention.
In her comment a woman leader Olatibo Adebayo, lamented the deplorable nature of the road before Governor Akeredolu came to the rescue. She added that Ifon people would never forget the government of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Master Tomi Olaye, who spoke on behalf of youths in the town said the giant strides of Arakunrin Akeredolu in less than three months in office would remain indelible in the history of Ifon.
In his remarks, the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN , said his administration would not neglect any part of the state in the on going massive road construction and rehabilitations.
The governor who was impressed by the quality of job done so far by the contractor and the large number of people who came to welcome him assured of more government presence in the town.
Arakunrin Akeredolu however advised them to take ownership of all government projects in their town by protecting them from any form of vandalization.
The project spanning through Ogbomo, Ifedara and Howlet Lane totalling 1.65kilometres is expected to be delivered within 6weeks.
The Governor was accompanied to the site by his Senior Special Assistant on Infrastructure, Engineer Olayiwola Aminu and Engineers from the Ministry of Works led by the Permanent Secretary, Engineer Tayo Adeniyi.
