I am in mode of my father to govern Ondo – Anifowoshe Ajasin

The only woman aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 26 governorship poll in Ondo State, Mrs. Olajumoke Anifowoshe-Ajasin, on Monday, said she was banking on the legacy of her late father, Pa. Michael Adekunle Ajasin, the first civilian governor of old Ondo state, for her to bring back the lost glory of the state.

Mrs. Ajasin-Anifowoshe, who is the last child of the late Owo born politician who addressed journalists at the Media Centre, inside the national secretariat of APC in Abuja after she submitted her nomination forms, stated that she was proud to be associated with her late father who, according to her, governed Ondo state with all honesty, humility, integrity and purposeful leadership that had not been equate by any other administration in the over forty years of existence.

“I am in the very mode of my father to give Ondo state rapid development in all facet of life, and to even surpass his achievements in the areas of free and quantitative education, free and accessible healthcare, sustainable physical infrastructural development and better life for women fold.

“My passion is to govern the state with a selfless service to the people as reminiscent of the feat of my late father, who designed the frame work and implementation of the popular free education of Action Group (AG) between 1979 and 1983.

Mr. Anifowoshe-Ajasin, a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state said she had since begin canvassing votes from the party’s delegates ahead of its primary election fixed for August 27th.

She disclosed that the party needs a committed and vibrant candidate that would win the governorship contest noting that she had being receiving overwhelming support for the party.

“I have been saying it that the APC remains unbeatable in this forthcoming governorship election in Ondo state which is holding precisely in November.

“I will ensure I beat any candidate that they picked in the PDP silly by the grace of God when I will clinch the party’s ticket after the August 27th primary election”.

She promised to added more achievement on the development and governance left behind by her late father which has become the standard by which the state is being judge.

“My father’s legacy through honesty, integrity, humility and courage are part of the virtues that I have in my arsenal to ensure the sun shines again in our dear ondo State if given the ticket to fly our party’s flag in the coming election” she said.

According to her, the candidate of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) would come out victorious in the November 26th governorship election as eminent in the last presidential election in the state.

She expressed confidence that the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) would also defeat the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in election while noting that the people are already tired of incumbent government in the state.

The only female aspirant further pleaded with the leadership of the party both at the State and National level to ensure the primary election already fixed for August 27th is free, fair and transparent in its conduct.
