Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN was part of dignitaries from all walks of life that bade farewell to Dr Olabisi Victoria Jobarteh during her funeral service in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Delivering a sermon at the funeral service held at St. David’s Cathedral, Ijomu Akure, the Lord Bishop of Akure Diocese,Anglican Communion, Rt. Revd. (Dr) Simeon Borokini said Dr. Olabisi Victoria Jobarteh used her professional competence as a Medical Doctor to serve God and humanity as expected of a Christian.
In the sermon titled ” Understanding Life”, Bishop Borokini said life is not about possession , beauty, wealth or riches but a journey, a misery and service to God and Humanity.
He added that: “Life is a creation; Life is a teacher; Life is a market; Life is a war”
Bishop Borokini said Dr Olabisi Jobarteh was a people’s doctor who left legacies of compassion and kindness in her impactful practice of medicine.
The Bishop who admonished the congregation to be heavenly focused and conscious said the number of years spent in life would not count as much as the quality years spent on service to God and His people.
Born on the 12th of March 1959, Dr Olabisi Victoria Jobateh was one of the first female doctors to have operated a successful private practice in Ondo State.
She is survived by her husband, a citizen of the Gambia, children and many grandchildren.
The Secretary to the Ondo State Government and the President, Ondo State Customary Court of Appeal, Honourable Justice Folashade Aguda -Taiwo were part of the dignitaries.
