Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, is in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, to attend a one-day meeting of Governors of the six states of Southwest, Nigeria,
Topmost on the agenda of the meeting is the challenges confronting the region, with a bid to setting realisable goals that will make the region formidable across all sectors within the Nigeria nation.
Deliberations at the meeting, being coordinated by the Southwest integrated initiative, the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN Commission), will equally centre on security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, rail and road network.
The meeting, holding at the MITROS Gateway Annex, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State, with Governor Ibikunle Amosu presiding, has the governors of Lagos State, Mr Akinwumi Ambode; Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi; Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose.
The host governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosu, had expressed optimism that the forum would further deepen multilateral and bilateral cooperation among states of the Southwest.
