Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has implored well-to-do politicians and other Nigerians to cultivate the habit of living their lives to serve others. Arakunrin Akeredolu gave the advice in a message at the commissioning of Suncity FM, Ondo.

Akeredolu, whose message was delivered by Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Yemi Olowolabi said rendering selfless service is the greatest virtue a man could possess. “Those of us who have been opportuned to be in a position of power and influence are fortunate as we are expected to use such positions to serve others. Serving others without expecting anything in return is the hallmark of greatness, being a way of life ordained by God. Men, who cultivate such livelihood are referred to as institutions and legends, who are not forgotten even after their demise. The essence of life is solving problems of the people via service delivery. Such are not many in our shores.”

Arakunrin Akeredolu called on the new Radio Station to discharge its duties professionally. “A media house such as yours must be objective, candid and fearless in your news and programming. With the team of professionals you have here I have no doubt that you are going to discharge your social responsibility successfully.”

He said Ondo City, with four stations, is leading going by the number of Radio Stations. This city values information dissemination, hence the huge investment has pumped into the sector.”
Earlier, chairman of the occasion, Dr. Tayo Dairo assured that the Radio Station would focus on service to the people. The event coincided with the 92nd birthday anniversary of the Chairman of Legbe Communications, owners of the Radio Station, Chief Olabanji Akingbule, who was showered with encomiums over his decision to establish Suncity FM at Ondo.
