Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has described as salutary, the contributions of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, JABU, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, towards the development of Nigeria through quality manpower.

The governor made this known while receiving the Governing Council and Management of the university in his office in Akure.

Governor Akeredolu said it was worthy of note that the Proprietor of the university, Christ Apostolic Church, has resolved the crisis within its fold now living by its “One Flock , One Shepherd”, tenets.

While recalling his personal relationship with the CAC during the period JABU was established, Arakunrin Akeredolu noted with satisfaction that the ‘mustard seed’ has now germinated and bearing positive fruits by delivering sound universal knowledge.

“JABU did not stand behind me, I’m part of its beginning and I’m happy that we are celebrating the unity of the Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, and JABU.

“Now, the ‘One flock, One Shepherd and One fold is finally realized. We are involved throughout many years as solicitors for CAC.

“I will be there God-willingly to celebrate this unity together. We worked for it and I’m happy that the university is a reality and doing marvelously well now”, he said.

While referring to the university as a fairly moderate one with Faculty of Law and making sacrifices, he said the gesture would encourage everyone to support JABU in matters of this nature.

The governor, however, called on all well-to-do in the society to support JABU in its desire to enlarge the frontiers of university.

Earlier the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council, Professor Anthony Imevbore had said the mission of the Governing Council was to intimate the governor with the institution’s Endowment Fund Launch to hold on 18th of May, 2018.

Describing the institution as a private faith-based University, Prof Imevbore said the university would be exceedingly happy to secure grants to lighten the burden of the citadel of learning on its proprietor.

“We are ten years old now and have produced over five thousand graduates. We are in need of funds to develop the university to measure up to the dreams of its founding fathers.

“We thought we need to talk to friends and progressive minded people like your humble self, whom we know to be a friend of the institution”, he said.

Officials of government at the Courtesy Visit include:  Secretary to Ondo State Government, SSG, Hon Ifedayo Abegunde; Head of Service, Toyin Akinkuotu, Esq.; Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr Jibayo Adeyeye and other members of the university’s Governing Council.
