Fuel Tanker Accident: Ore Deserves Federal Government Attention, Says Jimoh Ibrahim

Senator representing Ondo South at the Senate, Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim has commiserated with the families of victims of fire accident caused by fuel-laden tanker in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Describing the incident as unfortunate, the senator said the incident was evitable, balming on deplorable condition of the highway.
He said the Ore needs Federal Government’s attention, saying the Ore portion of the Ore/Benin Highway.was in deplorable condition and needs immediate attention.
The billionaire business mogul advised the resident of the community and the senatorail district to avoid scooping fuel from whatever source, warning that it’s dangerous.
According to Senator Ibrahim, “I commiserate with the families of the victims of fire accidents that happened in Ore on Sunday evening.
“This incident is evitable if proper action had been taken by the Federal Government on the deplorable condition of the portion of the Ore/Benin Expressway in Ore community.
“If the road had been in good condition, the tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) wouldn’t have skidded off the road into the ditch which led to the fire incident that killed several people in the community.
“The victim-residents wouldn’t have had any reason to scoop fuel in the first instance.
“So, I call on the Federal Government to fix Ore road without delay.”
However, the senator charged the people of the community to stop scooping fuel from fallen tankers
He said: “I call on our people to desist from moving near fuel-laden tanker because it can catch fire anytime. Instead I advise them to call on firefighters to save the situation whenever there’s such incident to avoid explosion and fire incident.”
