In what would be best described as a “Surprise Sweet Party” in honour of the people’s First lady by members of staff of the office of the wife of the Governor, in conjunction with Access bank PLC,
the Wife of Ondo State Governor Arabinrin Betty-Anyanwu Akeredolu celebrated her 64th birthday with Children from Emmanuel World Children Foundation Ikot Ikare in Ifedore LGA, Ondo State.
The celebration which started with an early morning 60 minutes aerobics at about 6:30 am had the Governor of Ondo State Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, the wife of the deputy governor, Mrs Agboola and other family members and friends of the First Lady in participation.
In her remarks, the sunshine state first lady expressed delight at the gesture which she said made her day.
“We have marked this my birthday in a special way, I do quite a number of things differently, and I hope you all enjoyed my kind of birthday, First of all I will want to thank my staff who thought it wise to put this together, actually the sprang a surprise, I didn’t know what they had in stock, when I saw the kids from Emmanuel Foundation, I said seriously, you have really made my day, it follows that you know what I like, you know where my heart is, I am happy” she said.
Highlights of the event were the cutting of the birthday cake, goodwill messages from the first family, friends of the First Lady, members of Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria, BRECAN, members of staff of the office of the first lady, Presentation of foodstuffs and gift items to the children from the orphanage and special presentation from the children.
