Ondo state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Pastor Femi Agagu has expressed his deep shock on the painful loss of nine Teachers from Okitipupa LG in motor accident last Saturday.
According to Agagu, “I was shaken by the horrible news of a gastly motor accident on Ijebu Ode-Ore expressway where we lost nine primary school Teachers mostly from Okitipupa LG last Saturday.
“I here by most heartily console members of NUT Okitipupa LG chapter, families of the deceased and Ikale nation on these very painful and irreparable loss” he said.
Countinuing, the commissioner said “my condolences to their respective schools and to the people of Ikale generally for loosing at a go, nine illustrious citizens” .
He also pray for speedy recovery for those injured in the unfortunate accident.
Meanwhile, the commissioner advised motorists to drive cautiously and ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before embarking on trips in these “ember” months to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.
The commissioner who explained that excessive speeding and wrongful overtaking were the causes of most road accidents enjoined motorists to be more careful and shun speeding and wrong overtaking.
His words “the motoring public should be more careful during these “ember” months, there is increase in vehicular movements on the highways and unnecessary agitation by drivers mostly commercial drivers” .
