Council Boss Urges Residents To Remain Peaceful

The Caretaker Chairman of Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State, Mr. Biyi Ayannuola has apealed to the people of ward 10 in Olokuta Idanre and Aponmu Idanre to remain peaceful over age long restiveness among neibouring communities along Owena/Ondo road.

Speaking at a peace meeting held at Olokuta Idanre, the local government boss urged the residents of the communities to remain peaceful while relevant authorities were looking into their complains .

According to him “I have taken steps to address the boundaries issue by writting the authority to notify them of the problem facing by the people.I have also visited the boundary commission to intimate them of the plight of the people of the communities” he stated.

The local government boss added that government would take up the matter and amicable resolutions would be provided, urging the people of the area not to take laws into their hands.

He therefore promised to bring developmental projects to the people at the grassroots, adding that the local government would provide boreholes for them as well as grade the roads leading to their farms so that they could bring their farm produce to the market without problem.

He added that the health care centre which was initiated by the communities would be looked into by the council with a view to complementing their efforts.

The Council Boss used the opportunity to sensitize the people on the need to come and register in the ongoing continuous voters registration exercise particularly those that just attained the age of 18.

He also called on parents to bring out their children for immunization against measles, adding that health officials were on ground for the programme.

The traditional rulers of Olokuta Idanre,Chief Oluwagbenga Akinyemi and Chief Babatola Adeyemi, the Olu of Aponmu expressed their gratitude to the council boss for visiting them at the grassroots and promised to maintain harmonious relationship in the communities.

The traditional leaders called on the authorities to ensure that people at the rural areas benefited from dividend of democracy by bringing development closer to the people at the grassroots.

In his remarks, the representative of Owa of Idanre, Chief Boluwaji Akinnibosun, the Ugbatoyo of Idanre land promised to table all issues raised before Oba Aroloye for necessary steps to be taken.

He urged them to ensure that their subjects remain peaceful while relevant authorities look into the matter for amicable solution.
