At the jumat service the chief Imam of Akure central mosque prayed for divine enablement and wisdom upon the founder of BRECAN and all those who will join in the fight against breast cancer in Ondo state under the umbrella of BRECAN and prayed allah to grant them the resources needed for the task.
Speaking at the thanksgiving service, Mrs Akeredolu said their action is an act of thanksgiving that Ondo State has joined the league of those creating awareness on the life threatening disease breast cancer that has claimed many lives across the country.
Mrs Akeredolu said it is really pathetic how the lives of Nigerian women are wasted on the account of breast cancer.
She said “We are launching BRECAN Chapter here in Ondo State next Tuesday so that Ondo State will join BRECAN Family in the fight against breast cancer, so that our women will no longer die in ignorance”.
She said awareness is the entering point in dealing with the disease and emphasized that breast cancer is a medical issue and not a spiritual attack as many are made to believe.
Present at the services are some government functionaries, political appointees and religious leaders.
