The members of Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) during the weekend surprised their founder, the First Lady of Ondo State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu with a grand reception at BRECAN Centre Ibadan.
“Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has given her time, talent and treasure, in fact, the totality of her life, in the fight against breast cancer in Nigeria and so we owe her a lot of gratitude, that is why all of us whom she has recruited into this army across Nigeria has decided to celebrate her today, coming at a time God has elevated her to the status of the First Lady of Ondo State.” Mrs Ogbogu, the National Secretary of BRECAN stated while speaking to journalists at the event.
Mrs. Juliet Ogbogu said the reception is a way of giving back a little to someone who has given so much to humanity.
Her Excellency Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, in her reaction described the reception as a pleasant surprise.
“What happened to me today remains indelible in my life. I was shocked to the marrow with the surprise reception at BRECAN Centre Ibadan. No clue whatsoever. It was coup and a pleasant one. Everybody around me kept the secret. Lagos, Ondo and Oyo State Chapters were represented. I felt so loved. BRECAN for Ever!”
She further expressed happiness that Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) is growing and expanding.
