During her recent and first visit to Imo State after their victory, wife of Ondo State Governor and an illustrious daughter of Owerri west LGA, Her Excellency, Mrs Betty Anyanwu – Akeredolu met with stakeholders of Owerri West and challenged them to put aside every sentiment that will be an impediment to the development of the area and seek common goals.

Mrs Akeredolu argued that community participation to the development of an area
is invaluable as it has yielded a lot of positive results in the past in the areas of provision of good learning and health care facilities etc.
She encouraged them to speak with one voice in order to attract reasonable development from government and constituted Oganihu Owerri west forum.
The forum raised a 7 man committee comprising of representatives of all the parties present to carry out community need assessment of the area.
In their respective submissions, the spokesmen of the political parties present commended Mrs Akeredolu for her good intentions in convening the meeting and promised not let her down.
The ninety minutes meeting had in attendance Serving and former commissioners, former LGA chairmen, other political appointees, some leaders and members of All Progressive Congress APC, Peoples Democratic Party PDP, All Progressive Grand Alliances APGA in the area.
