Betty Akeredolu rewards FOWOSO members at launching

Wife of the Ondo State  Governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu – Akeredolu has given out smart phone to each of the Akure South Local Government participants who emerged as the overall best in the match past during the official launch of the Forum for Wives of Ondo State Officials (FOWOSO) at the weekend.

The winner of the match past defeated participants from other 17 Local Government areas to claim the coveted prize.

The Caretaker Chairman of the Local Government, Commrade Margaret Atere who could not hide her joy expressed her gratitude to Mrs Akeredolu for her initiative regarding FOWOSO which she  submitted added help to women across the 18 Local Government Areas to come together and showcase their talents and in turn promoting unity among the  women folk.

“I feel on top of the world today that words cannot express my joy. I want to commend the effort of our First Lady for making this programme a reality and I am also very happy that my Local Government won the match past. This is an event that everyone will be looking forward to.”

Other activities at the event include elders dancing competition, couples head gear tie and knotting of tie competitions among others which saw winners walked away with mouth watering prizes.

One of the winners, Mr Kolawole Bamidele and his wife who represented  Akure North Local Government in couples head gear and knot tie came first in a keenly contested competition and was presented with a 6.0 KVA electricity generator by Mrs Akeredolu.

Bamidele who said he was very happy to have emerged the winner appreciated the First Lady for including head gear and knotting of tie among the competitions which he added enabled him to win the gift he termed as special.”I am very grateful to God for enabling me and my wife to win the contest and I am equally grateful to the First Lady for putting up this beautiful idea, I cannot thank her enough.”

The physically challenged were also not left out as they were presented with generators, grinding machines, sewing machine, dryers among others.
