Ondo state first lady, Arabinrin Betty Akeredolu has pledged support for Museums in the state.

Mrs Akeredolu who made the pledge when some of the curators of Owo museum called on her in her office said the place of arts and culture in the history development of a people can never be over emphasised .

Mrs Akeredolu lauded them for their good work in preserving arts and culture. She stated that she was very impressed at the good condition of Owo museum, which was founded in 1968 to accommodate the antiquities which were formerly in the Olowo Palace.

Emphasising the value of art and culture, the first lady said it offers an intrinsic value and it has measurable impact on our economy, health and wellbeing, society and education.

Owo museum contains significant archaeological artefacts and ethnographic materials discovered in the Owo area.
