A participant in the ongoing Bemore Summer Boot Camp, Oladimeji Folashewa, of SDG 16, has declared that the boot camp gives to girls opportunities that most girls do not have around the world.

Oladimeji said this on Friday while interacting with the journalists at Mabest Academy, Oke-Ijebu, Akure, Ondo State, on her experience in the boot camp.

In her words: “Bemore has been pretty exciting. Before I came to the boot camp, I heard a lot of interesting stories about it from those who have participated before now. Since I get to the camp and have my SDG, it has been fun.
“I have learned a lot in the various aspects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). I also received my brand new laptop. We are being taken care of very well. Bemore camp has a high standard for everyone and a lot of advantages. It gives a lot of opportunities that many girls around the world do not have.”

Folashewa who noted that she has benefited from the various activities in the camp expressed gratitude to the founder of Bemore Empowered Girls’ Foundation for creating the platform for girls.
She added, “I learnt so much about climate change and plastic pollution in the renewable energy class. I also learned how to produce reusable sanitary pads and so much more. Bemore has a wide range of activities to choose from and they are all fun. We do physical exercise every morning and have dance and taekwondo training session. We eat balanced diet on daily basis.

“I want to specially say thank you to Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu for giving me this opportunity. If it is possible, I will like to come back to the Bemore camp again next year.”
The fifth day of the camp featured the renewable energy class wherein the girls learned the basics of electricity and the making of solar oven; they also learnt web designing, graphics and Microsoft Excel in the ICT class.

The day which began with morning physical exercise for mental and physical fitness was brought to a close with the selection of football team members for Bemore in preparation for a friendly match with Aketi Babes on Sunday.
