Ondo pensioners eulogize Jegede …Says he’s been a marked philanthropist before ambition
Pensioners in Ondo State have showered laudation on Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for his love for the downtrodden and needy.
At a meeting of the retirees held at Oke-Eda, Akure, the group described Eyitayo Jegede as a kindhearted person who has been caring for the widows, orphans and the needy in the society long before he convinced political ambition.
Speaking on behalf on the pensioners, Mr Funso Odele, said, “Eyitayo Jegede is a not a new man to us. He has done good things to us, helping retirees with official and private issues. He has in years past been attending to the needy, widows and orphans in the society.”
Mr. Jegede, in his remark, appreciated the pensioners for the show of love and solidarity. He noted that the welfare of pensioners is a constitutional matter and a responsibility of government, urging them to continue to pray along with him in his resolve to remedy prevailing challenges.
He said, “I appreciate your love and support. Let me say to you that the welfare of pensioners is a constitutional matter and a responsibility of government. I urge you to continue to pray with me that God Almighty will help us to do make good choices.”
The group, preponderant with aged prayed for Eyitayo Jegede, assured him of their support and charged him not to forget the welfare of pensioners after election.
