IMG-20160501-WA0005For those who still believe that the Deji of Akure, Oba  Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi is still hell bent on the ‘Akure Agenda for Governor’, of which he has been a strong advocate, might be in for a shock as the monarch has now thrown his weight behind any candidate from any zone that can continue what he described as the good works of the incumbent Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

Oba Aladetoyinbo bared his mind while hosting in his palace, Barrister Sola Ebiseni, the Commissioner for Environment and a leading contender for the Governorship‎ ticket under the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP].

Ebiseni had led ‎ the monthly Environmental Sanitation monitoring team to the monarch’s palace to solicit his support to help sustain Akure’s status as ‘the cleanest state capital in the country.

‎The monarch said when he was informed of Ebiseni’s visit, he thought he was coming as a governorship candidate but was surprised he came for environmental issues. ‎

‎”When I heard Hon. Ebiseni was coming this morning, I thought he was coming as a governorship candidate..before, I used to say it must be an Akure candidate but when I realised that this present governor is not even from Akure and has performed wonders and much for Akure..I mean anybody could be…Anybody that will follow Mr governor to continue with his good works..Anybody from the state. When I realised that this governor is not even from akure and has made akure proud, anybody from ondo state could be governor..that is my position. ‎Oba Aladelusi said.

He said he is an advocate of clean environment and commended Ebiseni for driving to a success, governor mimiko’s vision to ensure Akure is clean.

Addressing the monarch earlier, Ebiseni said it was the policy of his ministry to enlist the support of the traditional institution for good environment advocacy and commended Oba Aladetoyinbo for his commitment and support for good environmental practices which he said the people have keyed into.

He urged the Deji who he described as one of the most influential traditional ruler in the country to help rally his colleagues all over the country for a lasting solution to the menace of herdsmen particularly rearing animals in residential areas which he said has not only greatly contributed to environmental pollution but has also assumed a frightening security dimension with serious implication for our national unity.
