Amnesty Programmes: Akeredolu Advocates Training Of Youths In Ondo Varsity
In the interest of the majority of the youths in the Niger Delta, particularly, in Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Government Areas of the State, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has advocated the training of youths in the Niger Delta Areas of the State in the state owned institution- Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa.
The Governor made the suggestion while playing host to the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta/ Coordinator Presidential Amnesty Programme, General Paul Boroh, (Rtd), on Saturday 9th September, 2017.
“Instead of sending few people abroad to study and many a time they never returned. Even sometimes, when they returned they have to grabble with reintegration. For the interest of the majority of the youths, why can’t we make use of our own University, which already has the facilities and courses like Marine Technology, ” the Governor said.
According to Mr Paul Boroh, he was visiting the state to ensuring that the relative peace being enjoy in the Niger Delta continues. ” I’m happy to be here. Ondo State is part of our mandate areas and our responsibility is to ensure that there’s peace, ” he said.
